Camu Camu. Sounds a little peculiar, right? If you’ve never heard of this South American delight, you’re in for a definite treat! There are so many things to love about these round shaped fruits. So let’s begin… It was only in recent times that camu camu (pronounced: ca-moo, ca-moo) began gaining traction in mainstream health circles. These tart, cherry-shaped fruits have been predominately eaten and loved in key areas they are native to, such as Peru. They are found in the Amazonian rainforest and grow on shrubs, which would look like something out of Willy Wonka’s factory to those of us naïve on their presence until now. Needless to say, the rare nature of the fruit doesn’t minimize its potent goodness.

 

These babies are loaded with Vitamin C. In fact, they contain up to sixty times the amount found in your beloved orange and two hundred times as much than what is found in bananas. This smoothie will deliver a punch of healthy yumminess to any part of your day! So grab your blender and start mixing this up:

 

+ ½ cup frozen pineapple

+ ½ cup Mango

+ 1 tbsp Camu Camu Powder Organic

+ 1 cup non-dairy milk

 

Blend all ingredients together until smoothie consistency forms. Pour into a bowl. Top with kiwis, Granola, and any other things your heart may desire!
