By now everyone has met our darling little Jace. For the first 5 months of his life my husband and I slept out on the couch, him in his bouncy seat, just for sleep convenience. He wasn`t ready to lay flat on his back so that started our journey of couch sleeping. Of course, I went through the same thing when I had Sophia for the first 6 months of her life as well before moving her on to her own bed from sleeping with me. Well, we found a cute little fold up bed that looked like an oversized bouncy seat, but it rocks, at Babies R Us that fit right next to our bed we figured we`d give a try. After all, Jace is starting to outgrow that thing as far as sleeping goes. Well since getting him that bed thing we are now back in our bed and I can`t tell you how great it feels! No, he doesn`t sleep through the night still, but at nearly 6 months we`re at least making progress and waking up less at night on MOST nights. Well, I discovered another product that`s safe for in the crib and a nice comfort tool for baby Jace from Bitta Kidda called Bitta Blankie.
About Bitta Kidda
We are a family of entrepreneurs and "fix-it" types, and we love solving problems. The idea for Bitta Kidda came in the middle of the night as we watched our 4-month-old baby boy on the video monitor. He struggled as he awoke between sleep cycles, arms flailing and nothing to calm him down. Mimi (the grandmother with all the good ideas) realized he just needed something to hold. She created Bitta Kidda for him, and within the month he was sleeping calmly through the night.   But it wasn`t just that he was sleeping, all babies learn how to sleep eventually. It is what Bitta Kidda did for him during those nights, and early mornings, that made us realize how incredibly powerful this concept really is. Those 12 hours stretches were not straight sleep. He would go in and out of sleep cycles and instinctively find his Bitta Kidda for soothing and go back to sleep. The best part was he always had it with him. Some great ideas are just meant to be shared, and this is one of them.   We believe in raising secure, confident and independent kids (and parents!). It`s a life long journey for parents, and it starts from the day we bring our babies home. Our goal is to create innovative products that promote happy families.
I was sent the Bidda Blankie for Jace to try out and he was just a happy little boy in it! Before putting him in it we gave him his bath and as I undressed him from his dirty clothes he was already grabbing for his new outfit! After his bath, we dressed him in his outfit and he rolled around smiling and playing in it for quite some time! What`s so special about this sleeper is that it has attached flaps that are made with a soft, soothing fabric to help comfort your baby to sleep. Not to mention it`s machine washable - every parent's dream! The one thing I really love though that this company did was that they made this outfit flame resistant. You generally don`t think about these things unless something has happened, but luckily this company thought about it for us ahead of time!
While Jace didn`t sleep soundly last night in it, he enjoyed his sleeper thoroughly. He just has his days - just when we think we`re getting a pattern going he changes it on us. Like I said though, at least we`ve made it back to sleep in our bed! This is so cute, lightweight, and just plain adorable. I definitely recommend it to anyone with a little one!
