This will be the LAST post I share with the coupons.com coupons as the program is coming to an end at the end of this month; on September 30th. I know, I will miss it, too! But I do have hope something else will take its place.

 

Additionally, the days of stacking coupons with Ibotta offers are officially over, thanks to just-released Ibotta changes. For the longest time, Ibotta was one of our top choices when choosing which rebate and cash-back apps to use when shopping. Between the automatic redemptions for certain stores and the ability to pair rebates with other offers, Ibotta was the jam for couponers. But now Ibotta has quietly updated its coupon stacking policy, making it against the rules to combine Ibotta offers with other coupons and deals. 

 

On Sept. 14, 2022, Ibotta updated their Help section under the question, “Can I use coupons or other promotions with Ibotta offers?” Now Ibotta’s answer to that question is a resounding “No.” They also add more details that “Ibotta offers cannot be combined with manufacturer coupons, paper coupons, digital coupons, or other rewards promotions.” This update is a big blow to the coupon community, since we’ve been stacking manufacturer coupons with Ibotta rebate offers for years now. 

 

 

Nope. Not only did Ibotta update their Help section with the new lingo, but now they put fine print on individual offers. You’ll see new terms stating, “Offer not eligible for cash back when combined with other coupons and/or promo codes.”

 

So what happens if you try to do it anyway? Ibotta says if you submit a receipt where you used manufacturer coupons, paper coupons, digital coupons, or other rewards promotions, pending offers may be reversed before any cash back is applied. We’ve seen this type of restriction before with Checkout 51, but it was only on select offers. 

 

 

Now that Walmart and Ibotta have teamed up with the release of Walmart Rewards (available just for Walmart Plus members), you can’t double-dip. This means that you have to choose whether you want your rebate to go to your Walmart Rewards account or Ibotta. If you want the cash back to go to your Ibotta earnings, you have to add the offer in Ibotta, not on Walmart. When you submit your receipt to Ibotta, that’s where your earnings will go. If you add an offer for the same product to your Walmart account and to Ibotta, the rebate will only go to your Walmart account. You’ll only receive cash back for an offer once, even if it’s available on both Walmart and Ibotta. 

 

 

After this change from Ibotta, the only rebate and cash-back app left that allows coupon stacking is Fetch Rewards.
