Imagine having your carpet smell like lavender. Now you can. The dream is real.
Carpets get dirty. It’s an inevitable fact of life. Everyone is walking on them, pets are doing who knows what on them, and kids are playing on them. All of that leads to smelliness and less-than-cleanliness. Neither of those are things we want. This especially holds true in the summer, when there’s more time spent running in and out of the house.
That’s why this DIY carpet cleaner will make your summer. It’s a breeze to mix together, and will leave your carpeted areas appearing brand spankin’ new. Plus, it’ll let you and everyone else breathe in the lovely scents of lavender, lemon, and clean air. Can it get better than that? We think not.
Fair warning: After placing it on our own carpets, we instantly noticed the difference, and the scent was extremely uplifting. We also stood and sniffed for a little too long. No judgments though, okay?
Here’s What You Need:
- Baking soda, 2 cups
- 10 drops Lemon essential oil
- 10 drops Lavender essential oil
- Mixing bowl and spoon
- Mason jar or shaker top container
Simply add the baking soda, and drops of both essential oils into a small bowl. Mix together. After, pour into a shaker top container. Next, vacuum your carpet to maximize odor-absorbing powder. Then, spread evenly all over your carpets. Let it settle for an hour then vacuum it up!
