Scents are powerful. Take a moment and think to the first time you smelled chocolate or something that brings up happy feelings within you, where were you? We bet you can remember the place, and maybe, even the day. It’s not uncommon for us to think of memories when we are faced with a smell. There has been research done that shows that the reason for this phenomenon is that scents hit our olfactory bulb first which is connected to areas of the brain that relate to emotion and memory. The result? That nostalgic moment whenever you get a whiff of an aroma.
This small rant brings us to today’s post: making a DIY Shampoo and Conditioner scent for this summer. Seasonal smell is one of the best scent memories. When we think winter, we think cinnamon spice; When we think fall, we think pumpkin. So why not make a scent true to you, that will remind you of all the great memories you’re going to make over the next several weeks? This way, when the weather gets a bit chillier, you can take a long smell of the DIY Shampoo (or the conditioner) and be brought back to endless days and smiles.
