...And just like that, it was summer.
Is it just us or did the first half of the year fly by? This weekend marks the beginning of the summer, unofficially, and also the closure of May. That means, it's almost June. Six months ago, we'd have thought the onset of warm weather to be a sick joke here in NY. Yet, here we are, with the patriotic, three day weekend ahead. We couldn't be happier.
So, if you're throwing a party, or having some friends over, we decided to provide some helpers to make whatever you're doing great.
First things first, let's cover what you'll be drinking and cooking.
Blueberry Raspberry Sparkling Limeade
When you want something tangy, but spirited, try this!
What You'll Need:
- Juice of 1 Lime
- Juice of 1/2 Lemon
- 1 teaspoon Stevia
- Bag of Frozen Blueberries
- Bag of Frozen raspberries
- Ice
- Club Soda
Simply add the club soda, lime, lemon, Stevia together in a cup with ice.
Top with blueberries and raspberries as desired.
Mix together.
Cilantro Lime Salmon with Sauteed Kale
What would make the drink option even better? A complementary cuisine!
What You'll Need:
4 Filets of *Fresh* Salmon
1 Bunch Cilantro
1 tablespoon MCT Oil
How To Make:
Simply preheat the oven to 375, and grease a tray.
Prep the salmon by rubbing a tablespoon of oil evenly across all filets.
Cut up the cilantro to bring out its aroma, then place on top of the salmon.
Sprinkle salt and pepper as desired.
Cook for 35-40 minutes, until even, and no pink center.
Serve!
Next, make sure you set the scene with some fun decorations. The one below is our favorite since it's purpose is two-fold: keep the party smelling great, and keep the bugs away (naturally).
DIY Bugs-Be-Gone Candle:
This DIY candle project is super easy to make and the output is awesome: a yummy scent that will boost the spirits of your guests. You can either light and place on tables outside or leave in the bathroom. Your choice! (Link through to another post)
