Painting with a Bottle

I just wanted to share a simple little art project/craft idea that I had found and my 6 year old, Sophia, absolutely loved it! We had everything lying around the house and since our lesson for the day was about plants we used a bottle to "paint" flowers for the craft to go along with the lesson. So here`s what you`ll need:

  • Construction Paper
  • Paint
  • Paint brush
  • Bottle (we used a 20oz, but a 2 liter bottle would work as well)

Now all we did was paint our branch out. I`m horrible at drawing, but the point was to do a project having to do with flowers and to make it fun - which we did so it was successful! Once you paint your branch, then paint the bottom of your bottle and then press it on the paper as if it were a stamp. Now for us it was a bit tricky and I sort of pressed the paper along the lines of the bottle at the bottom to reach everywhere the paint did. Otherwise I was left with only 4 dots of paint rather than the flower look. When all is done you have a unique flower design! Simple, fun, and we managed not to make a mess!
