Unfortunately, on Wednesday, October 28th, my home was in the path of Hurricane Zeta. What was expected to land as a tropical storm or maybe a category 1 hurricane ultimately ended up rapidly intensifying and turned into a strong category 2 hurricane. It was literally 1mph from being called a category 3 - at least, last I heard before my power went out. Thankfully we are all okay. We are safe and our home did not have any damage to it. THANK GOD.
However, my computer didn't make it. When the power went out it apparently killed my hard drive on my computer. It put it in an endless loop of restarting and made me think it was just doing some regular updating... come 4:30am I realized that was not the case. I was able to get into the system and have it do a diagnostic scan only to basically show the hard drive failed. I then attempted to back up files off the hard drive at least. While most of my stuff is backed up, there were a few important files that were not backed up. Backing up failed. It would not read my external hard drive and would only read a USB thumb drive and still just wouldn't go through. I also tried getting into it in safe mode - nothing. I am devastated.
So I am attempting to get work done on a VERY old, outdated laptop. However, the desktop needs to be replaced and what I need for all the components and work I do, is not cheap. This was definitely not a good time by any means for this to happen.
If you're able and willing to help, I would appreciate all the assistance I can get. Donations can be sent via PayPal to PayPal.me/AshleyDrewes (or just click the donate button below). ANYTHING helps at this point. Hoping I can resume normal work soon.
By the way, the photo used is my own photo I took. That is how it appeared as the eye of the storm crossed over. It was a yellow eerie feeling. I really felt like zombies were about to start walking. It went from a light yellow to a darkish type of yellow like there was a fire in the distance - not the same like you see during a typical sunset. And an absolute silent and eerie calm before it turned pitch black.
