I hear a lot of people asking `how do you organize coupons?` Well I`ve tried tons of methods but now-a-days since I order my coupon inserts in bulk rather than just getting one every week I outgrew my file folder and binders. I now have a filing system that works awesome! I ordered a Seville Classics OFF42569 Heavy Duty Office Utility File Cart, Chrome and some SMEAD Hanging Folders Green, Letter Size - 50ct
off Amazon to get started. Actually, I got waaaayyy too many folders to be honest and fooled with them so they couldn`t be returned before I fully had everything set up! Oops! Now keep in mind we have a small house and please forgive the mess in the photo as it`s a bit hard for me to get to my coupon cart. I have it on `my side of the room` as I call it, but I currently have some stairs my husband made for me for my pregnancy to make it easier for me to get in and out of bed.
So my side is a bit squished, but boy do those stairs help! But what I did was once I got my cart in and had it put together I used the file folder and have one side for Red Plum inserts and one side for Smart Source Inserts. My P&G Inserts go right in front of the Red Plum in a single folder since you only get those once a month and then they expire. Each side is organized by date and I mark the date on each of my inserts that I receive and then file them in order. So when it comes time to pulling coupons to clip I can easily find them without pulling out every coupon insert I own, clip them and then put them back. I use the bottom drawers for misc supplies for Sophia and the top is generally so I can browse my printed coupons (which I keep in a binder unorganized currently) and I also keep Sophia`s Homeschooling binder on. Of course currently it`s the binder tossed on the top from me trying to go through and pull expired coupons because I started to feel dizzy as it often happens these days with the pregnancy.
I absolutely LOVE this system. With my small space it provides a place to clip coupons (well will again once the pregnancy is over and the clutter on my side is removed), organize my inserts and the drawers are great to add your supplies such as scissors, envelopes, albums, etc that you may use for your coupons or other office/craft supplies. Plus the cart has wheels so you can easily roll it around!
