We are now officially back!!
So this is absolutely terrible!
The email to connect (after discussing advertising plans, etc)
I should have paid attention and checked the email address as I normally do....
So luckily, I immediately removed them from the ads/Facebook account, however, they must have been removing me as an admin at the same time. I do not believe anyone actually has access to the page at this time, but I cannot post to it either. Same with my groups. I can post as my personal page since I made myself an admin of the groups, but I cannot post as the page itself because I am not recognized as the page owner!
This is an absolute nightmare. I'm on the verge of tears and cannot believe I let this happen! I have filed a copyright claim with Facebook with an explanation of the situation. I am hoping I will regain access to my page. In the meantime, no posts will feed through to the page because, well, without admin rights I can't do anything.
After this happened, I also did some research (something I should have done beforehand) and found that this is a scam that has happened to quite a few pages with a decent following.
To keep up to date, please subscribe to my newsletter and follow my twitter
. I will definitely update on my Facebook page should I regain access to it. You can also comment on my post in the group
and I can respond that way. This means I currently do not have access to responding to messages to the page at this time. Please email me if you are a sponsor rather than use Facebook messenger until this is resolved.
I FINALLY received an update from Facebook basically confirming information and forwarding my information to the correct department. I have submitted some information to prove I am who I say I am and that I am, in fact, the owner of Closet of Free Samples. What's more interesting is a Facebook user is commenting on multiple posts (mine and others who have had this same issue) that they can "fix" the problem. I already made one stupid mistake. I'm not about to make a second. The only person who can fix this issue is Facebook. Will keep y'all updated!
Wow, Thanks Facebook for not caring and totally ruining my birthday... A page with over 15k followers totally ruined and gone because you allowed a HACKER to win instead of fixing the issue. If this is the case, I want you to return all the money I EVER invested with you. What do I want for my birthday? For this nightmare to be over! If anyone knows of any legal action that can be taken in this matter, please contact me. I am ready and willing to fully go after Facebook.
I still have not gotten anywhere with Facebook... I decided to make another page to hold me over until I could get the issue resolved with Facebook. The best case scenario is that I get my page back and I can have two wonderful pages. However, if not, I’m hoping to start fresh and gain some new incredible fans as well as bring over my loyal fans from over the years. So for those interested, in the mean time, I introduce to you Southern Fried Deals.
So late last night I received the above email from Facebook they have restored my access to the page. That's wonderful, except when I checked I still did not have access. So I'm taking this as I will be getting my page back, but I'm not going to get too excited just yet. I responded to let them know of the issue so hopefully, I will be back 100% soon. If anyone has tried to contact me on that page, please know I only haven't responded because I have no access and will respond when I can or contact me through my new Facebook page I mentioned in my previous update.
I'm so happy to announce that my Facebook page, Closet of Free Samples, has been restored and I now have access once again!! After a pain in the butt process and having to get documents notarized, I am finally back. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
