I’ll be honest—this morning did not start how I imagined it would. Like any regular day, I grabbed my phone to scroll through social media before getting out of bed. But instead of my usual Twitter feed, I was met with a message saying my account had been "permanently suspended." Don't believe me? What?! Suspended? Permanently? For what?
To say I was shocked is an understatement. I joined Twitter way back in January 2009—back when hashtags were just becoming a thing—and I’ve always played by the rules. I don’t post controversial takes, and I steer clear of drama. Most of my posts are about sharing great deals, tips, and occasionally fangirling over Taylor Swift merch drops (thanks, Swift alert bots!).
So, why the sudden suspension without a single warning or explanation? It doesn’t make sense. And wasn’t Elon Musk all about free speech? It’s frustrating to be booted off a platform I’ve used for over a decade, especially when I’ve done nothing to violate their terms.
I filed an appeal, but I’m not holding my breath. At the end of the day, Twitter wasn’t a major hub for me—it was just another platform where I shared deals and connected with people. Still, it stings to be tossed out without warning or reason.
