Coffee, can we ever function without it? While that’s up for debate, what’s not is the way you indulge in this beloved beverage. Sure, it’s great on its own, but did you know there is a way to supercharge your morning drink? Yep, read on and find out how…

It seems America has an ongoing love affair with coffee. With statistics ringing in that 54% of us (over age 18) drink at least one cup o’ joe daily, it’s not too far off to say that it’s a morning ritual here in the states. No matter the way you take your coffee—almond milk and sugar, or straight up black—one thing’s for sure: you can make it even better. After all, mixing up your morning routine can be enjoyable and in this case, will lead to countless benefits for yourself.

Let’s first talk the benefits of coffee on its own. While we know that there are two sides to every argument, we’re keeping it positive with this post and discussing some of the reasons we love coffee:

Coffee Benefits:

+ It’s a natural source of energy (Move over Red Bull)

+ It contains antioxidants (like caffeic acid, linked to reason #1 above, and chlorogenic acids)

+ It can help ward off the Monday blues. The scent alone can trigger feelings of being awake.

(Keep in mind, moderation is key. To get the best that coffee offers, it doesn’t mean downing 4 or more cups a day).

Now let’s talk what to use to supercharge that cup! Below are 4 herbs and spices that have been used throughout time for their helpful benefits.

Ashwagandha:

coffee

Ashwagandha. An odd sounding name, but a great herb. This small shrub is native to South Asia and is sometimes called Indian Ginseng. It contains a bunch of antioxidants and is known to help you be more present (on even the busiest days). Grab some of our quality-ensured Ashwagandha Root Powder to start getting creative today!

Rhodiola Rosea:

coffee

Rhodiola Rosea is also known as the Golden Root. This is also a shrub-like plant, but it’s native to Europe and Asia. Used traditionally in folk wellness, this herb has become known for its mellowing properties.**

Cinnamon:

coffee

Can you say holiday time, anyone? This known spice is a great way to add a bit of cheer to your coffee. It not only smells great, but it provides a bit of a kick to wake you up.

Red Maca:

coffee

Skip the sugar and add some maca instead! This superfood is naturally sweet and is chockful of amino acids and vitamins.
