As a blogger, I love what I do and really don't like calling it the "J" word - Job. Why? Because I enjoy what I do and to me, using the word "job" indicates doing something I do not really enjoy doing in exchange for money. So using the word "job" is just something I avoid doing. However, I will admit that there are days with my blogging lifestyle that I need a push or a boost to get my day going and the thoughts flowing. Some days things just come naturally and other days I am looking for a trigger point to release that natural flow of energy. So today, I wanted to share some of my own personal tips on how to
naturally boost your lifestyle to help get the most out of your day. I find by doing these things, I am able to get the most out of my day to achieve my goal.
1. Using Aromatherapy
For those who are unfamiliar,
Aromatherapy uses plant materials and aromatic plant oils, including essential oils, and other aroma compounds for improving psychological or physical well-being. I, personally, use a diffuser for my aromatherapy. I find they are easy to use and helps maximize the fragrance exposure. For me, it depends on my mood and what I am trying to accomplish, as to what essential oil I use. For example, I like to use a lemon essential oil blend (or alone) to help give me an energy boost, but when I am ready to unwind for the day and prepare to go to bed, I will use a chamomile and lavender blend to relax my mind and body. I also sometimes add a couple drops of essential oil to my bath for added relaxation at the end of a long day. The combination of a hot bath and a relaxing fragrance is my favorite way to unwind!
2. Drinking Tea
Generally, when you think of tea, you think of relaxing because hot tea is known to help relax you and soothe a sore throat. This is all very true. However, sometimes I find drinking the
right tea in the morning works just as well for my "morning wake-up" routine as drinking coffee does! As a blogger, I need to be awake and focused to write quality content. Trust me, I've read some of the things I've tried to do when I was tired and it was absolutely terrible! One great tea recipe to try for your morning as a "wake up" tea is this
Easy DIY Sun Tea Recipe I discovered only a few months back. It does take some time to make as it sits in the sun, but trust me, it is well worth it! Also, I recommend iced tea for the morning as I find the coldness gives that "something extra" to get me up and going.
3. Frequent Stretching
Whether you are a blogger or have another sort of job that requires you to sit at a desk all day, the biggest thing I must emphasize is
stretching! I know, when you have a busy schedule and having to get things done, the thought of stopping just goes to the back of your mind, but trust me when I say that it is for the best. As someone who sits in front of a large computer screen all day, stretching gives your eyes a chance to rest (assuming you look away from the screen). Seriously, looking at the screen for too long hurts your eyes! On top of the benefit of giving your eyes a rest during that stretch, you're giving your back, arms, and the rest of your body a brief moment of rest as well. Just a brief moment of stretching will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to get back to work!
As the end of the day, there's a variety of ways that you can naturally boost your lifestyle. My suggestions are off my own personal experience as a blogger and someone who sits in front of a computer screen and desk all day. Keep in mind, you can adjust these tips to fit your lifestyle to make the most out of your day. Feel free to share your own tips in a comment below!
