I`m one who cooks along with my husband in our household, but I usually leave the meat cooking up to him. Mostly because he`s more familiar with knowing when it`s done than I am. I know a few basics, but it just wasn`t something taught to me growing up and have had to learn on my own. I know how important it is to have your meat cooked thoroughly before eating it which I guess is what makes me a bit nervous (well not so much now, but did) about cooking it. , I`m now able to know WHEN my meat is cooked and safe to eat.
For this brand of meat thermometer, I love that the results are quick and easy to read. Within just a few seconds the thermometer gives a reading, which tested accurate when using several other thermometers to test accuracy. Also, this on has an on/off switch so no wasting battery power! I love that you can change the temperature setting between F and C as well, even though it`s a rare occasion I need to use Celsius. When not in use, this thermometer comes with a little covering that goes over the pointed in so no accidental stabbings and it`ll keep the needle-like end clean between uses. After I use mine, I run it in some boiling water for a few minutes to sterilize it as I wouldn`t suggest putting it in the dishwasher. Overall it`s easy to use and have yet to have any issues.
***UPDATE***
I can no longer honestly recommend doing business with this company. Since running a giveaway, my winner never received her prize. I contacted this person multiple times through the 3rd party site that is used to connect bloggers and businesses together multiple times with no response. It took me updating my review through Amazon for this person to bother responding and when they did is was nothing but excuses and wanting me to remove my negative review - not so much the concern of my winner and the prize they never fulfilled. After going back and forth a bit through emails the company began slowly getting rude as I was not going to just change my Amazon review when they did not fulfill their end. While I stand behind the fact the product is nice, the customer service was awful. The lack of response was awful. The fact they didn`t fulfill the prize as they promised and supposedly closed their account on the 3rd part site in the middle of a promotion - this is something I cannot honestly feel comfortable saying positive things about and makes me not trust the business. I take my blog seriously and when someone wins I expect their prize to be fulfilled. Not doing so greatly impacts how I feel about the business ethics of a company and that`s what happened here. Bad business ethics.
