my thoughts

My Rating: â˜…★★★★

I’m not going to lie, this is one fascinating device and I have no honest use for it! I got it for my husband and he loves it and actually knows how to use it properly, but for me I just find it really neat. I’m easily amused too, but this thing is cool being able to tell you the various temperatures just about instantly! This device allows you to measure temperatures both in Celsius and in Fahrenheit with a temperature range of -50 to +500 C/-58 Degree F to +932 Degree F. It runs off of (1) 9v battery which comes included in the package. Be sure to take the plastic wrap off before attempting to use it (I was exhausted, but excited and clearly missed that one!). Once the battery is in you can just pull the trigger to get started. There’s a red laser pointer that’s a bit thicker than a typical cat pointer so you can easily see the exact location you are targeting for a temperature reading. Some readings, like on non-moving objects, are instantly shown. Other temperatures, such as on live people or animals, will fluctuate making it appear that it’s still scanning. The fact of the matter is body temperatures do fluctuate so keep this in mind when trying it out. Also, it measures the outer temperature, not inside. So you most likely will not detect if you are running a fever with this and not recommended to use as a body temperature reader (although it would be cool if it worked that way!). The device is light weight and easy to hold and use. It also has a max temperature function where it can take the highest temperature of the area tested by scanning and save the data at the bottom of the screen. It also has a low battery indicator so you know when it’s time for battery replacement. When my husband isn’t using it for actual work, I found use in letting the cats chase after the laser dot. overall it’s a great device, seems accurate and works well!
