Alrighty, as all of y`all know I went and took a trip to Washington to visit a friend. One of the places we had wanted to go was Bella Italia
, because of course we`re both big Twilight fans! So of course we go and drive out our way to drive to this place to eat. So we get there and we get in line. An older couple walks in and got seated. Ok... so maybe we`re next? Nope. The blonde host just completely ignored us. Standing at her podium doing absolutely nothing but staring away between whatever was on the podium and just around the room. Now it`s nearly impossible to miss two females with 3 young kids under the age of 3 running around and making noise!
10 minutes later, a small group of people come in behind us. I start talking to them about how we`ve been waiting and have been ignored for the past several minutes. THEN the host lady decides to tell us that we can`t be seated, we need a reservation. YET there`s ALL these open tables. Now, granted it IS recommended to make a reservation because weekends are typically busy, BUT it is NOT required. But if that`s the case, why were we waiting 10 minutes, being completely ignored by this absolutely rude obnoxious lady doing absolutely nothing, before we were told anything?
If we would have walked in and was politely told "hey you need a reservation tonight" or something along those lines, fine. It would be a disappointment, but our fault.
So after that, the small group behind us, the rude blonde host happily seats them, yet the whole time with us she was completely rude.
Of course we leave and I call management right away. I was told they couldn`t speak to me right away because they were in the middle of a dinner rush. About an hour later the manager calls me. She was very polite and nice. I explained the situation, the rude lady, going out our way to eat there, etc. She apologized quite a bit and she sounded very sincere. She asked if there was anyway we could come back in and of course we were already headed somewhere else. I explained how we were on a very tight budget and that was our one nice place we planned to have a dinner during the duration of the trip. Again, she kept apologizing. She asked if we`d be able to make it back another time and she`d make a reservation for us. Well, as nice as she was, after all that couldn`t we have been offered a discount or something for all our trouble? I mean we were about 4 1/2-5 hours out of our way and got nothing but rudeness!
I`m apparently not the only one with a bad review for Bella Italia
, see some reviews here
! So my opinion? Well other than what you read, don`t waste your time or money here!
Luckily for us we found another nice Italian place named Tarcisio`s Restaurant
to eat which was cheaper, the food was excellent and the staff and customer service was absolutely amazing!
