Scooby, our dog, was in for a special surprise this month! She was invited to try out the Only Natural Pet Wholesome Homemade Red Meat Recipe Grain-Free Dehydrated Dog Food from Chewy.com and boy was she excited! 

 

Unlike other dog foods, this one is made to be more of a homemade meal type food than a typical dry dog food. Plus, because of the water, it adds moisture. Making the food is very easy, but takes a couple minutes to do. You take equal parts of the dog food and the same amount of water. So for Scooby, we added one cup of food and one cup of water and then you allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Now, you want the water to be warm to mimic fresh homemade food. The first time making this, I made the mistake of just cold water. After re-reading and noticing it should be warm, I microwaved it and well, Scooby wasn't impressed. So I I decided to try something else.

 

The second go-round, I added HALF a cup of hot water from the Keurig Machine and added it to the food. I allowed it to sit a few minutes to absorb. Then, I added the other half of cold water. That way the food was made, but the cold water cooled it off for Scooby to enjoy. This worked out a LOT better and Scooby was seemed to actually enjoy the food. Moral of the story - follow the directions and make it right and your dog will love it! At least Scooby did, anyway. 

 

After making it the proper way, this food seemed to be a real hit with her and one I think we can honestly recommend. Plus, it seems quite a bit healthier than others on the market!
