Alrighty, this one is for all my readers 18 years and older! If you`re younger you can still read, it`s nothing adult, but you can`t order because this does contain alcohol in the product. Well recently I got together with Tortuga Rum Company and was asked to try out their rum cakes. Now I`ve never had a rum cake in my life up until now. So I have nothing to really compare this too. I`m not a huge alcohol drinker to begin with. I have my few select drinks that I can handle and that`s about it for me. When I first received my package I was excited. I liked their packaging of the cakes. Yes, lame I know right? Who`s worried about packaging? Well I`m just saying it caught my attention, which is always a good start. When I actually opened my package and saw my Rum Cake it looked really yummy to me! I`m a cake lover so of course I was ready to just bite into it! On top of the cake being in its own individual box, it`s also in its own vacuum sealed bag as well to contain its freshness. So when I opened my bag up to try the cake it was still moist and fresh. Which, obviously, was a big plus! So I went ahead and broke off a piece of my cake. The cake was very soft, moist and fresh. The cake was actually really good as well. The only bad thing? The rum part! Not that the rum itself is bad, but because I have such a low alcohol tolerance, the rum actually was a bit too strong for me personally. But overall I actually liked the cake. In fact, if we could make this a "virgin" rum cake, that thing would have been gone in 2 seconds! But if you`re able to handle your alcohol or you drink pretty often or just like rum, then I know you will definitely love this cake! So my overall experience? A great fresh cake with friendly service and fast shipping. What do you think? I was satisfied and I`m sure you would be too!
