Unfortunately, this world isn't quite what it used to be and it seems like you can't even make a simple trip to the grocery store without having to worry about your safety. I'm always looking for new and unique safety gear so keep myself and my family protected. So I was quite fascinated when I discovered the Defender Ring.

For the best results during use, it is suggested that you wear the Defender Ring on your index or middle finger as an everyday jewelry ring. In the event you need to use it, make a fist to secure the Defender Ring to your hand. Unscrew the ring top in a counter-clockwise direction to remove the top. Strike an attacker with the hand-mounted self-defense knife to collect DNA, draw blood, and cut skin.

 

There are a couple of designed to choose from, but I went with the Rose style design for my ring of choice and actually got my ring fitted for my ring finger rather than my index finger -- oops! Either way, it will still work and if need be I can slip it on halfway down my index finger for use. This particular style features a beautiful rose in sterling silver with three layers of petals surrounding the center bulb. The rose design was inspired by the rose flower's representation for beauty, love, and passion while its thorn represents the protection of the self-defense knife, which sits under the rose flower - just unscrew it and you will see it! 

 

The ring sizing is accurate and the design is very well done. While I don't think you could fatally hurt someone, the point of the knife is sharp and can cause a distraction to get you released. You could always aim for the face for a more serious injury if necessary as well. This ring is meant to help get you out of harm's way and that initial shock of a prick of the knife may be what you need to save your life. Overall, the ring is beautiful and truly unique. It'd make a great gift for yourself or someone special, while also bringing peace of mind with added safety. Well worth the investment in my opinion!
