While hammer toes aren't always easy to fix, they are typically easy to spot. A hammer toe causes the middle part of your toe to bend upward and the end of your toe to flex downward, creating a shape that vaguely resembles a hammer—hence the name. It often develops on the second, third, or fourth toe, and there is frequently a callus or corn on top of the affected joint because of the way it rubs against your shoe. While most hammer toes occur on adult feet, they can sometimes affect children as well. They may cause pain or discomfort when you walk. Over-the-counter toe splints and other devices, such as the TruOrigin Hammer Toe Straightener
, are easily available and are helpful for reducing shoe friction, which can lead to pain.

I personally have not been affected by hammer toe, but I do know some people who have. While I'm unable to say how well it helps for that purpose, I can say that the TruOrigin Hammer Toe Straightener is very easy to use and surprisingly comfortable. The material is soft and 'squishy' so it doesn't irritate my skin and honestly, it could work to use on you your fingers as well. I was able to put on the toe straightener and still wear my regular shoes and flip flops without any interference from the straightener. While it may not be ideal to wear with flip flops for appearance purposes, the point is that it still can be done. Same with wearing with sneakers. I was able to put on my socks and shoes (with the toe straightener on) and wear them comfortably. Of course, it did feel a little odd and takes getting used to, but definitely hurt or feel uncomfortable to me.
Please note, do not wear while sleeping or resting. Discontinue use if bruising, discomfort, discoloration, numbness, irritation, or pain occurs with repeated use. If skin chafing occurs apply padding or lubrication to prevent irritation. If symptoms continue, contact your foot doctor. Keep out of direct sunlight and UV exposure, this will cause discoloration. Keep out of reach from children and pets.
Overall, I feel like the TruOrigin Hammer Toe
Straightener is a great resource for those with arthritic pain, hammer toes, overlapping toes, underlapping toes, claw toe, crooked toes, joint pain, mallet toes, pressure points, and realignment to try. You never know, it may be just what you need to help relieve some of that pain.
