Turn your shower into a spa-like experience with this amazingly simple DIY.
Like bath fizzies, shower melts create an aromatic and relaxing experience for your shower. This incredibly fun DIY project allows you to combine your favorite essential oils and customize them to your liking. When you take a hot shower, put one of these shower melts in the corner. The steam from your shower will slowly break down the melt and release your favorite scent!
What you’ll need:
2 cups of baking soda 1 cup citric acid 2 tablespoons water (or witch hazel) 15 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil 15 drops Peppermint Essential Oil Coloring (optional)
Step One
Blend together your baking soda and citric acid in a medium-sized non-food use bowl. If desired, also add colorants. If not, your shower melt will be white.
Step Two
In a separate non-food use bowl or container, combine your essential oils and water.
Step Three
Slowly add your liquid ingredients a few drops at a time to your dry ingredients, stirring well after each addition.
Step Four
When ingredients are well combined, pack into two inch balls or use a stainless steel mold. Set on a plate to dry for at least 12 hours before using.
