April 13th is International Plant Appreciation Day!
That’s right, a whole day dedicated to showing your love for the life growing in the great outdoors. So why not take the time to hug a tree, plant some flowers, or make one (or all!) of these fruit-and-veggie-rich smoothies?
Grab these recipes for our 5 favorite smoothies for plant lovers below!

- 1 cup frozen Montmorency tart cherries
- ½ cup tart cherry juice
- 2 medium bananas, cut and frozen into chunks
- ¾ cup water (or coconut water)
- ¾ teaspoon almond extract
- Agave nectar, to taste
- 1. Combine all ingredients in a blender or bullet. Blend until nice and creamy.
- 2. Serve topped with a fresh cherry and enjoy!

- 1 ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond or coconut milk
- 1 medium sliced banana
- ½ fresh honeycrisp apple
- ½ teaspoon matcha powder
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- Coconut sugar, to taste
- 1. Combine all ingredients in a blender or bullet, using ¾ tablespoons chia seeds.
- 2. Blend until nice and creamy.
- 3. Add the remaining ¼ tablespoon chia seeds. Stir well and let sit until chia seeds start to thicken.
- 4. Serve and enjoy!

- ½ cup coconut water, boiling
- 1-2 servings of peppermint tea (loose or in a bag)
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1 medium banana, frozen and chopped
- 2 tablespoons shelled hemp seeds
- 3 tablespoons non-dairy dark chocolate, chopped
- 1. Bring coconut water to a boil and steep the peppermint tea until desired strength. We recommend tasting as it steeps until it’s super peppermint-y. Remove tea and let cool, either on the counter or in the fridge.
- 2. Place all ingredients in a blender or bullet and blend until nice and creamy.
- 3. Serve topped with a fresh mint sprig and some shaved chocolate and enjoy!

- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 frozen banana, sliced into chunks
- 1 cup frozen fruit of your choice (mix it up!)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (or 1 teaspoon MCT oil)
- 1 tablespoon flaxseeds
- 1 teaspoon powdered ginger (or ½ teaspoon freshly grated ginger root)
- Agave nectar, to taste
- 1. Combine all ingredients in a blender or bullet. Blend until nice and creamy.
- 2. Serve and enjoy!

- 2 cups Rooibos tea
- ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 ½ cup blueberries, frozen
- 1 tablespoon flaxseeds
- 1 tablespoon hempseeds, shelled
- ½ banana, frozen and cut into chunks
- 1. Steep your rooibos tea until desired concentration. Let cool.
- 2. Combine all ingredients in a blender or bullet and blend until nice and creamy.
- 3. Serve topped with a couple blueberries and enjoy!
