I received a recent e-mail that inspired me to write this post about getting freebies. The email was simple and stated they were unsubscribing due to "never receiving any of the freebies I post on my page".
Well, I have to say it`s hard to believe you won`t get ANYthing free from my page because I sign up for just a few things here and there as I post, and I receive things. I don`t always get what I sign up for, but I still get stuff.
In fact, you can see the proof on my "
received freebies" where I have photos up with things I got in the mail for free. No reviews. Nothing as a blogger incentive, simply free that anybody can get.
You can also check out my
TikTok page where I post videos of freebies I have received as well.
So, I wanted to write a few tips to help increase your chances of getting the freebies you sign up for. Keep in mind that I simply pass along the freebies I come across whether I find them, or other bloggers found them. Either way, we all find these freebies because of a COMPANY that is posting about it somewhere.
Are freebies really free?
There's a common myth that if you want to get something for free, to have to jump through every hoop to get it, and it's usually not worth it. That's simply not true. It really is possible to get free samples in the mail without filling out surveys.
Why would a company want to post a free sample?
To promote their business. If you like their product, you are likely to return and tell your friends. Which in turn brings them more business and more money. So, it`s a form of advertising that is attractive to us, the public people.
Keep in mind that sometimes there is a limited supply of items that no one knows about until they receive a later email. Other times the freebies are posted between just certain times. It`s up to the company how they are going to promote themselves and their free offering.
Also, there are sadly companies that don`t send anything but junk mail after making you believe you were getting free something or another. Often these are fake companies though to get a hold of email addresses. Yes, it sucks, but that`s how some are.
Then you get freebies that you have to, later after signing up for, confirm that your email address is legit by clicking a confirm link. If you do not confirm, they do not send.
My number one suggestion is to have a separate email account for freebies.
I love Gmail. I`ve used yahoo and Hotmail in the past but love Gmail. Why? Their spam folder is awesome! Plus, they recently have this application called Unsubscriber which is of course free. This helps unsubscribe you from various newsletters you may sign up for along the way if you are no longer interested.
Second, you should get yourself a separate phone number.
Personally, I use a free google phone number that I can choose to forward my calls to my phone (which I do not) or I can have a notification emailed to me to let me know if someone called and it will also send me if they left a voicemail or not. Anything I get in there is always junk. Of course, I don`t remember how to go about getting that set up anymore or if it`s still free. I got it when it was new and some kind of promotion was going on several years ago.
Another thing I recommend is using Firefox or Chrome as a browser.
Not only does it work best with my website as well as many others to view it properly, but you can download "add-ons".
There`s one particular add-on that I use called "Last Pass" which you can store your info in to make filling out forms much quicker and easier. Of course, this is FREE. Plus, you can access it from anywhere just use your master password and that`s it. Great if you have a computer crash or log on elsewhere.
Freebies are sometimes junk and sometimes good things. It`s a combination. I cannot promise what you will get since I am not the one who sends them out, but I do promise to try and provide as many
freebies as I can. I am one person running this site and I hope you all feel I`m doing a good job of it. I also hope you have an understanding of everything I wrote up in this post today.
Thank you all for being a part of it!
