Are you currently monitoring or looking into monitoring your health? If so, you would probably be interested in learning about this great company called Health Testing Centers. I had a chance to try a Women's Health Saliva Panel test and was pretty impressed with how simple it was. Before I get into my experiencer, here's a little bit of information on the company:

 

What is Health Testing Centers? Health Testing Centers offers thousands of blood tests (lab testing) available direct to you. Their prices are super low for this service because it's all cash, they do not accept insurance. There is no need to visit your doctor to order lab tests. They work with the largest FDA and CLIA approved labs in the country and have over 3500 locations where people can get tested. Many of their patients simply want to "play doctor", others are actively monitoring hormone levels, and some just want discretion and privacy.

As I stated above, I had received the Women's Health Saliva Panel test. The whole process was super simple from ordering to getting my results. To order, you simply select the test that fits your needs. In my case, I opted for a home test, however, other tests may require going to a lab in your local area to get done. I like the home test as I did not need an appointment to get it done. I was able to select a day that would work for me and do the testing on my own on my own time.

 

The kit arrived within a few days of ordering it online and came with everything needed to complete the test. The instructions were super easy to follow and understand. For this particular test, it required me to provide 4 saliva samples from the same day, but at different times: 30 minutes of waking up, at noon, afternoon at around 4pm, and at bedtime at around 9pm. They provided a clear list of "do's and don'ts" to ensure you get the most out of your testing as well such as not to drink alcohol on the testing day nor to smoke, drink, or brush your teeth within 30 minutes prior to collecting your sample. When you're ready you just basically spit the saliva in the provided test tube until you collected the specified amount, write your name, date, and time the sample was collected, and freeze it until all samples have been collected and ready to place in the mail. 

 

Once I collected all of my samples for the day, I put it in the provided return mailer and sent it off to the lab.  Within a week (give or take) I received an email with the results of my test. All I had to do was log into my account (or make an account if I did not have one which takes just a minute) and select to review my results. When I click to view it downloads my test results as PDF file with the details. One thing to note about the results is that is what it is - just results. There is no explanation, details of what the results mean, etc. Although for me, I found a quick google search gave me some brief information on what was found, however, a doctor would be the best person to consult in regards to the results and suggestions on how to handle or treat any results you may have found.

 

Ultimately, I had a great experience. The service was easy to use and super quick with results. Best of all, I didn't have to leave my house or deal with making phone calls. I did my test when I could and received my results in my inbox as soon as they were available. Definitely a great experience in my book!
