With 11 cats and a dog you already know we keep quite a few kennels around the house for trips to the vet and such. However, with us having hurricane season, I also like to have a couple of larger crates in the event of an emergency to fit more pets quickly. Whether for a hurricane or just another emergency for whatever reason. For example, recently there was a tornado watch. Thankfully, tornado's aren't much of a thing where I live, but because I'm in the South, we do not have basements. So our go-to is round everyone up in a crate, and secure them in our bathroom. Well, we grabbed our large crate to set up, the crate was all jammed together. You know, those traditional black metal ones... Luckily the warning passed without incident so we didn't even need it, but it was frustrating. 

 

With the Frisco Indoor & Outdoor Soft Dog Crate from Chewy.com I was impressed with how quickly I was able to set it up on my own. No need for my husbands help, although I'm sure he would have been able to get it together even quicker than myself. I got the 36" crate as I intended to use it as more of an emergency-style crate rather than a trip to the vet type of crate. Now, I must admit, I honestly didn't think this would be too sturdy due to the canvas-type material being used for it. Those sort of crates never hold up for me. Well, I was wrong. The framing is metal and easily snapped into place. The canvas is already on so you only need to zip and unzip it once you connect the two top bars in place. Once done, disconnect the bars and fold down. No instructions came with my crate, however, it was very self-explanatory and easy to do. 

 

It took a little bit, but slowly the cats started investigating it. Two even decided to make claims of it as I left the top zipper and front zipper opened so they could explore and get comfortable with it. I then partially closed the top zipper and one of the cats jumped and just hung out sitting on that part. I was impressed because it didn't cave in or come loose. It stayed in its sturdy position. Even as the cats jumped around, on top, in and out - the crate held up well. Definitely one worth the investment for pet owners!
