The holidays are just around the corner, but personally, once October hits, I already consider it "holiday season" because everything comes rolling in back to back. You have Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas Eve, then Christmas Day, then we top it off with New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Not to mention the other holidays in between that other cultures and religions celebrate such at Hannukah and Kwanza. So the holiday rush and shopping begins. What's on your list this year? While we're not sure of what everyone on our list is getting, yet, we did discover that
Petit Collage has some amazing items; especially for our 4-year-old son, Jace.
About Petit Collage:
Founded by Lorena Siminovich in 2006, Petit Collage has been featured by the NYTimes and Martha Stewart, and is distributed around the world from hundreds of mom-and-pop shops to Anthorpologie and Barney's. All the brand's toys, games and decor are made of eco-friendly materials and certified ethically manufactured. The line is designed in San Francisco, inspired by midcentury modern sensibilities. Top sellers include these Internet-famous
wooden puzzles,
magnetic play sets,
puzzles and the brand's bright signature
wooden toys "for play and display."
Take a look at the toys we discovered from Petit Collage:
This is a beautiful wooden drawing board that allows you to doodle, write, or draw with the attached stylus pencil and use the four shaped magnetic stamps to trace around or create different patterns and shapes. Remember the classic drawing boards that were grey? Well, this one is the opposite. It's full of color. Instead of a boring grey on grey or grey on white color scheme, this one uses a rainbow color of 'ink' (as we'll call it for lack of better terms) for the drawings. The color variation is yellow, green, blue, and red and simply makes doodling on this board a lot more fun. While I found you do have to go back and forth several times with the 'eraser' piece to get the image full erased, it still did the job and quite honestly, this is such a nice upgrade from the original!
I absolutely LOVE this! Stack the four blocks to make the perfect house for your three new friends. Watch them play Peekaboo from the door or wave hello from the window. When it's the end of the day, and it's time to clean up, simply stack the cubes inside each other for easy storage. This set is made recycled cardboard and printed with vegetable inks. The house and cubes are cardboard and the characters are made of solid beech wood. However, don't let that discourage you. This is still amazing quality and it's pretty durable for cardboard. I love how easy it is to stack to play and unstack to store between uses. The characters fit perfectly and did I mention how absolutely adorable it is?!
While I loved all 3 items, I must confess that this one is my favorite. I have a thing for Ferris Wheels so I guess I'm a bit bias with this one. Take your three animal friends for a ride on this beautifully designed and stylish wooden Ferris wheel. Turn the handle and watch this big wheel SPIN! Use the included wooden bead abacus to count rides, ticket holders, or number of spins. Each playset includes a spinning wooden Ferris wheel with three carts and three solid beech wood animal friends. I love that no tools are needed as this already comes assembled and ready to play. The characters are made of solid beech wood and the ferris wheel is made fo sturdy wood printed with non-toxic water-based paints. I also love the colorful design.
As you can see, I tried 3 amazing products from Petit Collage. I found all three items to be very well made, had a beautiful design, and was unique from other products on the market. While the kids not only enjoyed their new toys, as a parent, I felt confident allowing them to play with the toys as they are made with quality materials. The wood was even super smooth as to avoid any splinters during play. They're also durable to withstand being dropped on the tile floor repeatedly by my 4-year-old who likes to play rough. Doesn't mean it's a good idea, but the point is, the toys could handle it. I am beyond impressed and can honestly say I would recommend shopping at
Petit Collage this holiday season!
