As I've gotten older I found that my skin has become drier. With me living in the South and having hot humid weather, it seems it only makes it worse. Plus, wearing flipflops everywhere really don't seem to help. So I am constantly looking for something to help my poor feet out.
Recently, I discovered two products that work great either together or separately. Of course, for me, I like to use them together for double the benefit. What am I talking about exactly?
Gloves In A Bottle Shielding Lotion and
Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion. I had never heard of either lotion up until recently so let's take a look at each one.
The
Gloves In A Bottle Shielding Lotion enables the skin to retain its natural moisture and oils so the skin can heal itself. It does this by bonding the outer layer of skin cells, forming an invisible shield that protects and moisturizes. Applying the lotion is super easy - just press down on the bottle and squeeze it out. Upon the first squeeze, the first thing I noticed was how lightweight the lotion was. Regular lotion has a thicker and heavier sort of texture to it. Whereas this stuff felt like a more lightweight, thinner, and more breathable type texture - if that makes sense for a lotion. It absorbed quickly into my skin - quicker than my standard lotion if I'm going to be honest. The lotion was not sticky or greasy at all. Once it absorbed my feet felt super soft. I have to mention, beforehand, my feet were lightly ruff and very dry. So they weren't at the 'severe level' of dry just yet. Nonetheless, once the Gloves in a Bottle was applied, my feet were well moisturized without feeling gooey or funky.
After the Gloves in a bottle had finished absorbing I decided I would also apply the
Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion. The way this particular lotion works is that it locks in moisture and allows the skin to heal naturally from within. It also states on the bottle that it prevents dry skin and shields sensitive skin. Like the Gloves in a Bottle, the Skin MD lotion was lightweight as well made of basically the same texture. So once it again, it was a lightweight and breathable sort of texture rather than a thick, heavy lotion. Also, it too was not greasy or sticky and absorbed quickly into my skin.
With both lotions combined, I noticed an immediate difference with my feet. While I do need to use it for several days for a full difference, the fact that my feet were instantly moisturized and didn't dry out all day, despite the label stating it lasts only 4 hours, said a lot to me. As I said, my feet are in not a severe case of dry this time, but they have been in this slump of staying dry no matter what and quite frankly, I have been ready for some relief. Gloves in a Bottle and Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion certainly made a difference for me. So if you've been dealing with dry feet (or dry skin elsewhere) and ready for something that works, look no further! Definitely worth the investment!
