So, funny story. A couple of weekends ago, my neighbors and I were talking about having an outdoor movie night. Talking about how we should get a projector and set something up for the kids. You know, campfire, s'mores, and a projector playing a movie. Well, guess what?! I found one that is PERFECT for those plans. It's the Heyup Boxe Portable 1080P Mini Smart Projector On the Go and not only is it conveniently portable, it has a lot of cool features and is easy to use. Let's check it out!

 

 

The first thing I noticed about this projector is how compact in size it is compared to other projectors on the market. I can literally hold it in one hand. Plus, it's lightweight. I also noticed its unique design. It reminds me of a retro/vintage style - which I love! 

 

Setting up was easy. You can have it plugged in or use it wirelessly after it has been charged. Other projectors I have used are required to be plugged in at all times for use. So this was a welcomed change. By utilizing an internal 7800 mAh battery, Boxe allows for general viewing without recharging and lasts for 90 minutes, enough for most movies. For longer viewing sessions, it features a universal Type-C port, perfect for an external 65W power bank to extend entertainment time. 

 

You can then connect various devices such as your phone, computer, etc of where you want to pull your video source for projection. So you can watch Netflix, present a slideshow, sing karaoke, and more! I was surprised by how easy this was to set up and figure out. It seemed like it would be a lot at first, but once I started looking into the instructions, setup was a breeze, as was using it. 

 

 

With 1080P support, excellent contrast ratio, and accurate colors, it’s ready to cast a stunning image into a giant 120-inch screen size. For us, we do not have a screen as of yet (we're working on getting one after seeing the quality of this!). So we used a wooden board outside at night to test this baby out. Even with a rough board background for the screen to play on, we were impressed with the quality this projector put out! As it is projecting, you can easily adjust the focus of the projector by turning the dial at the top.

 

Also, the 4-point keystone correction is an essential feature that makes Boxe perfect for viewing in many different projection scenarios. By correcting the image angles and adjusting image corners, or permitting the growing and shrinking of the image manually, Boxe achieves the perfect picture anywhere without any limitations.  Plus, as a result of a built-in advanced LED light source, it has a lifespan of 25,000 hours.

 

One thing I was worried about was sound quality. Because it is so small, I really figured it wouldn't be too great, but figured we could just hook up a speaker to it if need be and it'd be fine for that. Much to my surprise, that's not even necessary!
