I have a 5-year-old son, Jace, who absolutely LOVES playing with his toys and also has a TON of them! So we're always looking for ways to organize toys and put them away and such. Well, lucky for us, Little Colorado has recently introduced the Whale, Elephant, and Train toy boxes from Bannor toys to complement the collection of wooden toy boxes available on their website. Even better, they sent us the wooden train toy box for Jace to check out for ourselves! We had a couple of options to choose from. but I thought the train would do best. If we didn't go with the train, we would have probably gone with the wooden whale toy box. Both were absolutely adorable a tough choice to choose between if I'm being completely honest. 

 

Made from birch plywood, this gorgeous Train Toy Box is perfect for holding all your little one's favorite toys. Of course, if your child is anything like mine, they would much prefer to climb into the toy box itself to play in! Little Colorado offers a few cut similar styles of this toy box: the Whale, Train, and the Elephant. Obviously, we chose the train. Measuring at 26" L x 20" H x 13" W, the wooden toy box is quite sturdy and adds a modern design element to any room. You can get the toy box in the natural wood color, as we did, or it is also available finished with a water-based natural lacquer.  What's nice is that the toy box already comes fully assembled and ready to enjoy.

 

 

 

Being that it was fully assembled and a huge box at delivery, I honestly expected it to be too heavy for me to carry. Nope. Not a problem at all. It is actually, surprisingly, lightweight. The biggest challenge was moving the box inside because of the box size. Weight, however, was no issue. The box was very well packaged and the toy box had a ton of padding around it to help protect it during shipping. So the toy box arrived in perfect condition without any flaws. We were able to easily remove our new wooden toy box without issue and began to check it out.

 

While this toy box won't hold all of Jace's toys, clearly, as you can see in the photos, Jace fully intends on sitting in it to play in rather than storing stuff. I mean, maybe one day he will store his toys in it, but for the time being, he is more excited about pretending to be a train conductor and sitting on the inside. That right there shows how sturdy the toy box is in itself. It didn't creek or crack at all when he got it. He gently climbed in and we had no issues with it supporting his weight!

 

Being that the toy box is made in the USA makes us love it even more as our family likes to show support by shopping locally and within the US as much as possible. In particular, this toy box was handcrafted in Denver, Colorado!

 

One thing my husband was thinking of was possibly painting the toy box for Jace to make it personalized to him. We're not too sure just yet as that is still being debated.
