I have two children, a 3-year-old (almost 4) boy and a 9-year-old (almost 10) girl. They both enjoy playing with baby dolls together and I thought this would be an exciting way for them to play as well as have an educational experience while playing. We got the Caucasian male doll and as it was described, the doll is anatomically correct - meaning, there is a penis on the doll rather than the standard rounded bottom. It is not obscene or obnoxious, simply the proper anatomy placed on a doll which is great for teach anatomy at a young age. While this doll does have incredibly soft skin, it is not as lifelike as those weighted baby dolls that are $200 a piece. The arms and legs are movable, but aren't as squishy and bendable as a true lifelike doll would be (which I'm totally okay with, by the way!). I do find the amount of hair on this baby's head to be a little unrealistic for the age it appears to be as it has a LOT of hair. Both my children came out with a head full of hair, however, the amount on the doll we received was quite a bit. Again, no big deal but thought it should be pointed out. Of course, this is getting to the nitty-gritty details depending if you were trying to get an accurate life-like baby doll or just something for fun or something slightly educational.
Overall, I love that you can choose the ethnicity and gender that best suits your needs and that it's anatomically correct. It is certainly unique to other baby dolls I have seen on the market and my kids have been having a blast playing with their new doll since we got him in! At the end of the day our family would certainly recommend this (and it's not too late to get one in time for Christmas)!
