I was sent to try the baby quinoa and the Teff Ivory Poreg to check out. I have to say, it was definitely unique to what I am used to. I love cream of wheat and grits and such so I figured I'd give the Teff Ivy a try first. It was quite easy to make with easy to follow instructions on the box. It took about 25 minutes with prep and cook time. Without any added flavor, it came out pretty decent. By that I mean, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't a 100% smooth texture that I am used to so it was different. Sort of like a slight beady kind of texture - sort of like the little round topping with sushi (forgive me, I can't think of what it's called right now!). However, it still tasted pretty good. I found adding a pinch of cinnamon sugar to it helped enhance the flavor more to my liking rather than a plain taste. That's just my personal opinion, though.
Next, I tried the baby quinoa. Again, the instructions made it super easy to make over the stove. I wasn't too much a fan of the quinoa so I'm thinking it's not quite the item for me.
All in all, I did find that Pereg makes high quality and fresh products. I love the ease of making, however, as a busy mom I do prefer quick make items that have the option of going in the microwave. If these are microwave safe, their packaging did not state as such. Regardless, that's not a big deal. I'm just often in a rush which is why I like the quick option as a preference.
Anyhow, my overall experience is that I would definitely love to try other products from this brand and see where my tastebuds take me.
