I know you all think I am absolutely nuts even thinking about a blanket for picnics and beaches when we are having some very cold temperatures right now, but hear me out! Now is the time to buy to plan in advance because once summer rolls around these things tend to be rather popular. As far as the blanket itself goes I love how it is lightweight and is a large size. It is definitely accommodating for a big family to sit on to enjoy if they wish, or, of course, individual use. You can have your family picnic and play games on it or simply lay out and sunbathe or take a nap. I found that a full grown adult could comfortably enjoy the blanket without their feet hanging off. I'm on the "vertically challenged" (a.k.a. short) side so I never generally have issues. the whole blanket all conveniently stuffs into the little bag (which is conveniently attached by the way). 

 

What's neat about this blanket are the pockets that each corner has. This seems a bit silly, but here is the reason that they have them. When you're at the beach, you fill the pockets with sand. By doing this you are weighing the blanket down, thus, preventing it from blowing away. This also means no more scattering your belongings all over the blanket to keep it from blowing away either. These pockets do not interfere with the use of the blanket. They are simply there for keeping the blanket in place and they do in fact work! While I only just got this blanket, I have had similar ones I have used in the past and this method works great and is super convenient. Oh yea, and they don't rip off either when you yank your blanket from the sand.Just grab your blanket and empty the pockets. That's it! You can then stuff your blanket into the attached bag and call it a day.

 

Even though this blanket is lightweight, don't let that fool you. The material is very nice quality and is rather durable. It is made of parachute nylon, which has quite a nice reputation for being a good quality material that is used in a variety of products, surprisingly. The nylon has a good elasticity and is known to have a mildew resistance. The material is also lightweight and dries quickly. Because of this it makes it the ideal material to use for outdoor items, such as this beach blanket. It is also generally resistant to abrasion and chemicals. Due to its exceptional strength, nylon has also been used to make parachutes, straps of the parachute harness, reinforcing tape, and suspension lines. Needless to say, the stuff is made to last and is a pretty good choice to use in general.

 

As I've said in previous notations, this blanket comes with a nylon bag attached to it which is what makes this beach blanket so convenient and unique. I love this because the bag cannot just blow away and get lost, because, well, it's attached to the blanket itself! So when you are done at the end of the day, you can just stuff the blanket back into the bag, which makes it a rather convenient size to carry it around for traveling. It even has a buckle attached to it so you can easily attach it to your beach bag, luggage, backpack, belt, etc. Even nicer, this blanket is easy to clean between uses! I've just tossed mine in my washer machine and had no issues, but for trips to the beach the sand pretty much just falls right off of it so there's hardly any work needed to clean it after.

 

Ultimately, this is an amazing blanket to consider for your next beach trip or family picnic. There are a lot of great qualities to it and I have yet to find any flaws or reasons to dislike it. I even love the color! The price is on point, the quality is great, and most importantly, it's functional. This one is definitely a great recommendation to check out!
