My daughter was too excited about this doll when it came in! With a lot of schools being temporarily closed around the nation due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, I know many parents are looking for things to help keep their child occupied both academically and just in general with toys.
Well, Playtime by Eimmie is the perfect option for your child if they enjoy playing with dolls. Both my 6-year-old son and my 12-year-old daughter enjoy playing with dolls so this was perfect for both of them! Although, my daughter plays with dolls in the stereotypical "girly" way whereas my son plays with them in a more rough stereotypical "boy" way. As in, don't leave a doll you don't want to get 'beat up' laying around by him!
I was sent a nice set to checkout with my kids from Playtime by Eimmie. Check out my video unboxing below:
For the set, we received the Playtime by Eimmie 18" Doll (Allie), Summer Beach Outfit, Baking Playtime Set, Camping Set, and the Doctor Playtime Set. My daughter is beyond THRILLED with her new doll and accessories, let me tell you!
So after I completed the unboxing and showing you all the doll and all the accessories, I showed my daughter everything and she was in awe! The doll is nice quality and well made (as you saw in the video) and features eyes that open and close automatically depending on how the doll is angled. If you lay the doll down, her eyes will close. When the doll is standing upright, the eyes will open. While the body of the doll is a soft plush, the head, arms, and legs are all made of quality plastic. Additionally, the arms and legs can be moved to make playtime more fun! Even better, the hair on the doll is super soft and honestly quite pretty!
Changing the clothes on the doll is rather easily done as well and can be done with little effort. The worst area to change is the shoes, but even that isn't bad depending on the shoe. For instance, the flip flops from the beach outfit went on super easy, while I found the shoes for the doctor outfit a slight bit more challenging to get the shoe on the heel of the doll foot. Nothing too challenging, of course. Each outfit from the various sets fit accurately and was super adorable on the doll! I think my favorite was the doctor outfit, however, my daughter preferred the dress the doll originally came in. Although we both did agree the bunny slippers were absolutely adorable and we want a pair in our size!
I love how the doll came with her own carry case to keep her in when you are not playing with her. Not only is it great for storage, but it works great for traveling with her as well as the back of the bag has straps that can be worn as a backpack. For my daughter being 12-years-old, it fits best to use just one strap, however, a toddler-aged child (such as my 6-year-old son) could easily wear it with two straps. There's even a pouch where you can keep some doll accessories on the inside of the zippered pack! Even better, with the case comes a pair of pajamas for your doll with a sleep mask and bunny slippers!
I truly love each of the themes that you can purchase for your doll go well together. For instance, the doctor's playtime set comes with the doctor jacket, scrubs, face mask, stethoscope, and a clipboard with some health charts and an x-ray sheet. The baking playtime set comes with a bakers hat, apron, and mittens for both the doll and your child. They actually fit my daughter, Sophia, quite well at 12-years-old and she was impressed by this as most stuff like that runs too small. So she was able to play dress-up with the doll as could my son if he wanted to! The beach set came with an inflatable ball (doll-sized of course), ice cream, icebox that opens, towel, bathing suit, swim cap, and a suntan lotion bottle.
Of course, I must admit, one of the favorite accessories that we got was the camping set for the doll. Not only was it fun and cool looking, but it's enjoyable even for the cats! Yes, I went there. While setting it up and working on pictures I had to work around one of our cats going into the tent to try and nap in! Looks like Allie (the doll) will be camping with a feline friend. Good thing that set comes with two sleeping bags - right?!
Ultimately, this has (and continues) to be an amazing experience for my daughter. I knew she would enjoy the doll, but I didn't realize just how much. Ever since the doll came in she has been carrying it around and playing with it. You see, she is on the Autism spectrum so getting her to user her imagination has been challenging. She may find something she likes and will cling to it. So while I figured she would find the doll pretty, I didn't know the extent she would like it and I'm very pleased she found something she could enjoy and use her imagination with. She has been carrying her new doll around everywhere. Playing with her hair outside in the backyard, even decorating it with flowers at one point. She enjoys changing her clothes and switching her outfits for the day, etc. So you see, while this doll was a wonderful surprise to her, it seems to have brought her much more joy than anticipated and as a parent and homeschooler, I enjoy seeing her put her imagination to use.
Thank you, Playtime By Eimmie for such a precious and amazing experience! By the way, in case it wasn't obvious, Playtime by Eimmie comes highly recommended from our family!
