This is part 23 of a 3 part post. We agreed, with Chewy, to try out Tylee`s Chicken Recipe Human-Grade Frozen Dog Food for Scooby for 1 month to see how it goes for her and our family. You can read my first post
here. It`s been about 3 weeks at this point since starting Scooby on her new food and I can honestly say that this has been our
best run yet as far as her liking it goes. I said this last time, but it`s true and continues on as such.
In case you missed part two, this is what I had to say: This is how our routine goes: Scooby sees me using a food scoop to scoop her food out the bag from the fridge into a microwave safe bowl. I microwave it roughly 1 minute and 20 seconds. I then mix it up and then dump it into her main feeding dish. She sits wagging her tail impatiently waiting as I am going through this process. Once it is in her bowl, she then sits staring at it a bit. I`m assuming allowing time for it to cool down? Why do I think it`s that rather than her not liking it? Well, if she didn`t like it she wouldn`t eat it for starters. Secondly, if the cats go anywhere near her and her bowl as she sits and waits, she growls. She is not an aggressive mean dog and definitely not one to growl for no reason. In fact, she loves the cats and doesn`t care if they go by her dry food. However, with the Tylee`s Chicken Recipe Human-Grade Frozen Dog Food, she is quite possessive and is not willing to share. Once the food has cooled to a temperature of her liking, she gobbles it down as if it were a treat. This is her reaction every time.
So now that we`re in week 3, how is it going? Scooby is great! I had mentioned her having some tape worms in her feces in the last post that appeared to be going away. Well now, they are completely gone. Again, I cannot say if it is as a result of the food or just by coincidence of the timing, but regardless, they are gone. She also seems to be doing well health wise. She`s always been energetic and she has maintained having a high energy level. As far as her coat goes, we did notice some bald patches, however, we do not believe this is a result of her food. When she scratches, she likes to rub up (the same areas that are bald) on the side of our bed to scratch rather frequently. She`s been doing this for a while, but had a jacket on. We just recently removed the jacket and saw it and noticed it`s not fresh. Overall this has been a wonderful 3 weeks with this food. I did receive a tip from the Chewy Influencer marketer to keep the food frozen and only refrigerate what you will use the next day. This will ensure you get to use the whole bag and not just some. The reason being is the bag claims to only be good for up to 10 days once thawed out. So keep this in mind. I am very pleased with how much Scooby enjoys her new food and highly recommend it to other picky eating dogs!
